Mission
Hi there! Thanks for stopping by!
My name is Mikaela and I am so happy that you’re here.
I believe in John 10:10, which says that we are called to abundant life. I wholeheartedly believe that this abundant life includes all things in life – relationships, health, homes, motherhood, even our food choices.
Join me as I learn what this means for myself and my family. We are on a mission to redefine “health” and what it looks like to live abundantly in all areas of life.
Chez Abdoo
Chez is a French word meaning “at the home of”.
I am so excited to invite you into our home (virtually, that is!). Follow along on our journey to healthy, whole, abundant living.
About Me
In addition to a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a neuroscience emphasis, I have experience in finding freedom and wellness in my own life.
After years of struggling with perfectionism, anxiety and an eating disorder, I have found a place of freedom that I never thought was possible.
Where an eating disorder used to have a hold of my thoughts, choices and self-image, I now have peace. The road wasn’t easy (for anyone…sorry, mom!), but by the grace of God, I am here to tell you that freedom is possible, whatever your struggle may be!
This blog is a declaration of that freedom. I used to fear food and think that consuming “less” or restricting joy in my life was best. But now I know the truth: no food is “good” or “bad”, there is a place for all foods in life, I am free to enjoy and (most importantly) fear does NOT get a place at the table.
I am so excited that you’re here! Join me as I share about finding balance in food, wellness at home and living abundantly right where we are.
A few other fun facts about me:
- I am the oldest of 7 children and loved my experience as a homeschooler
- You can find me sipping iced coffee in every season.
- I get to be mom to the two cutest, sweetest girls.
- I am married to my best friend and we live with our daughters, border collie named D.O.G and sassy cat named Mae.
- If clumsiness were a superpower, I could save the world everyday (maybe multiple times a day…)
